When should you change the blades?

Blunt blades tear the grass instead of cutting it. You see the result as brown tips two days later – and it costs battery time.

The interval

Expect to change every four to six weeks in season on an ordinary garden. Sandy soil and fallen cones shorten that considerably.

Change all three blades at once, and change the screws with them. Imbalance wears the cutting motor's bearings.

Why it affects the battery

A blunt blade needs more torque for the same cut. The cutting motor draws more current and run time per charge drops noticeably – which is easily mistaken for a failing battery.
